GRADE 11 ESS FIELD TRIP TO THE ARAVALI HILLS
27 April 2013
The Grade 11 ESS field trip that took place on 27 April, Saturday, was an informative and enjoyable one. Accompanied by our ESS teacher Mr. Guru Charan Kumar, 40 students embarked on a short walk to Village Raisina near the school in the picturesque Aravalis.
The topic for the fieldwork was ‘Biodiversity of the Aravali,’ and the students measured this with the help of the Simpson’s Diversity Index. Instructions had been given and groups made well in advance and the fieldwork was conducted smoothly and beautifully. The walk to the village, although tiring for most, was one that tested our stamina and was immensely invigorating. Everyone had a great time and Guru sir provided us unconditional support. The data collection process was effortless and easy and all the groups were able to attain the results they required. This was definitely a Saturday not wasted!
We would like to thank our Principal, Mr. Chalasani, and our ESS teachers, Mr. Guru Charan Kumar and Ms. Bhagirathy Jhingran, for making this wonderful trip possible.
