The IBDP programme evaluates a student thoroughly on the basis of varied criteria that a particular subject may offer. To fulfill the requirements of the Laboratory criteria for the subject- Environmental Systems and Societies, the IBDP Year 1 students visited a village called Manesar to study the population patterns and the effects on Industrialisation.
Recently, Manesar has been awarded nationally for an exemplary Sex ratio that the village is proud to uphold. Through Interviews of the villagers and Panchayat interrogations, the students were able to collect information as to how the village managed to strive towards the equality amongst genders. Furthermore, the students were also able to closely link the population patterns with the information gained.
The time spent at Manesar didn’t only act as a backbone for our Laboratory Internal Assessment, but also enabled the students to explore the varied culture, castes and diversity of the human population living at Manesar. The students could identify the management drawbacks and could also explore as to how people lived satisfied in a petite shelter.A pleasant weather and a pleasant interview, overall. Such a unique approach to the subject’s Internal assessment… We would like to acknowledge the contributions of MsBhagirathyJhingran and Mr Guru Charan for making this trip happen.
